In contrast, most 380 acp pistols sold today are blow back pistols, i.e., they don't fire from a locked breach. The P238 has softer recoil as a result of the locked breach. Just be sure your +P self defense ammo works in the gun and then use something milder for routine shooting. BTW, do NOT use +P+ in your Shield or any other gun you care about.
