WebTo do a proper test for the thermal runaway protection feature, you can disconnect the heater element of the hotend or the heated print bed at the time of printing or while sending commands directly to the printer via USB to set a temperature. You can also disconnect the heater element when the printer is turned off or even if it is heating up. WebCheck that your Heated bed thermistor is properly attached under the golden Kapton tape. If you notice the thermistor is hanging freely, unattached to the bed, undo the 6-9 bolts holding the bed to the Y-carriage and re-secure the thermistor using Kapton tape. Correctly secured thermistor. Loose thermistor.
WebOct 4, 2024 · I purchased my Cr-10 around six months ago and after about two prints the bed no longer heats up. I've been printing on the bed without the heater and have just been using tape to hold things down. The thermistor is still reading the temperature so the cables or connectors probably aren't damaged but any attempt to heat the bed hasn't worked. Cartridge heater and thermistor are the two only parts that keep the nozzle operating normally. Cartridge heater heats up the nozzle and thermistor reads its current temperature. The wires for the sensor are typically white. Check the connection of those wires from the heater block to the connector in the x-carriage assembly and elsewhere like brunoosti says.
