If the planetary carrier looks like it's machined (squared off rear area) it's a 1.76. The input shafts are different lengths also. I don't remember which is which, but someone will chime in with that soon. You can tell what low gear you have by pulling out the input shaft, if it's a 1.82 the shaft is 12.625 or 12 5/8" long, a 1.76 is 12.875 or 12 7/8" long. DO NOT LOSE THE BRASS RING ON THE END OF THE SHAFT when you pull it out.
